Born the son of a wealthy and piratous family, Norris is a prodigy and a genius. It was at an early age that he displayed an affinity for flying and command. He began flying at 8 and received the title of ace within a month's time and received his first command at age 12. Though he could easily obtain the rank of admiral (or any rank he chose for that matter) he is a pilot at heart and prefers the rank of captain and squadron leader.

It is his high intellect that makes him such a brilliant strategist. Looking into his eyes, one can almost see him working things out, as if he is always thinking dozens of steps ahead, working out every possibility in moments and figuring out problems that would take most men days or weeks to figure. He is also a brilliant mathemetician and a martial artist, qualities that make him all the better at what he does.

Although he is a pilot and freely uses firearms when needed, he also carries a katana on his belt as an honorable warrior. The sword is not just for show however as he is well versed in and use and uses it with deadly skill.

Considering his background, it is perhaps odd that Norris is a man of honor and justice with a strong sense of right and wrong. It is this quality that led to his being disowned and bannished by his own father after a heated arguement over the family's practices.

Since Norris left his family, he has never looked back and has followed his own path as his honor sees fit. The fact that he is disowned and banished does not seem to affect him and is perhaps more of a release as he has stated he "would rather die than be associated with such dishonorable and dispicable men".

Though Norris would like to escape his family completely, there are still times when he finds himself battling his family's reputation.
