Rowan is Marcus' companion and friend. Originally he was sent by Correllon Larethian to be Marcus' guardian, but he has since become more friend than guardian. Even though he now considers himself a friend, he has not forgotten his role as guardian and he makes certain Marcus doesn't forget it either.

Rowan generally means well, though at times he can be rather overprotective which aggrivates Marcus to no end. Fortunately for Rowan, Marcus is a true friend and forgives him his faults (though that doesn't mean Marcus is beyond ditching him which is generally unsuccessful).

The small dragon is generally light-hearted, often a joker, and always sarcastic. He enjoys teasing Marcus or to no end or swatting him with his tail (never maliciously), and is usually paid back by being called a lizzard or having his tail stepped on (also never maliciously).

Despite their disagreements, Rowan is loyal to Marcus and will always be a friend at his side. No matter how many times Marcus tries to ditch him, the dragon will always find him and return to his side. And truth be told, Marcus wouldn't have it any other way.

Rowan always provides some much needed comic relief in an often dark world.
